Assorted Jazz News


I haven't done much on the jazz side of things on the blog recently, so I rounded up a few recent news bits for you!

1. SFJazz to celebrate the 50th anniversary of John Coltrane's 'A Love Supreme' 




In February, this classic album will be 50 years old. The concert will be curated by his son, Ravi. Details [here].

3. Esperanza Spalding to perform at the Dubai Jazz Fest

I ranted on that festival enough last year. At least one of the headliners is actually a jazz musician; Sting and John Legend (blechhh) are headlinig as well. [Jazz fest website]

4. Remembering Dave Brubeck

The jazz legend would have been 94 on December 5; he passed away in 2012.
